Terms of Service

1. About cados

cados.store (“cados”, “we”, “us”) is a discovery marketplace that helps shoppers find handmade and small-batch products from independent Instagram-first stores in India. We connect buyers with sellers — but we do not sell, ship, or process payment for any item listed on the platform. Every transaction happens directly between you and the seller, on the seller’s website or Instagram DMs.

2. Accepting these terms

By using cados.store, signing in, or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may update these Terms from time to time; we’ll post the new version here with an updated “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify signed-in users by email.

3. Your account

You sign in to cados using a Google account. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. You confirm that the information you provide (including any seller application) is accurate, that you are at least 18 years old, and that you have the right to enter into these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we reasonably believe are fraudulent, or that put other users at risk.

4. Buyers

When you click through to a seller from cados, you’re leaving our platform.

  • Your purchase, delivery, payment, refund, and warranty are governed by the seller’s own terms, not ours.
  • cados is not a party to any sale and is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of any item you buy from a listed shop.
  • If something goes wrong with an order, please contact the seller first. We’re happy to help mediate, but final responsibility lies with the seller.

5. Sellers

To list a shop on cados, you must apply through the “List your shop” form, sign in with a verified Google account, and be approved by our team. Approval is at our discretion.

By listing, you agree that:

  • All information about your shop and products — names, descriptions, photos, prices, availability, lead times — is accurate and kept up to date.
  • You own or have the rights to all content you upload, including images, descriptions, and brand marks. You grant cados a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, and promote that content on cados.store, in our marketing, and via partner channels (e.g., social posts, drop-alert emails).
  • You are solely responsible for fulfilling orders, complying with applicable consumer protection, tax, GST, and shipping laws, and handling customer service.
  • cados is currently free to list during launch. We will give you clear advance notice — and a chance to opt out — before any paid plan begins.
  • We may remove a listing or suspend a shop at our discretion if it violates these Terms, misleads buyers, infringes others’ rights, or harms the platform’s trust.

6. Reviews and content

Reviews on cados must reflect a real, recent experience with the shop or product. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, off-topic, or that violate our content standards. You retain ownership of reviews and other content you submit, but grant cados a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content on the platform.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use cados to sell illegal items, counterfeits, or anything that violates Indian law.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish data from the platform without our written permission.
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the site (rate-limit bypassing, automated account creation, fraudulent click activity, etc.).
  • Impersonate another shop or person, or list products you don’t actually make or sell.

8. Intellectual property

The cados.store name, logo, design, and software are the property of cados and protected under applicable IP laws. Sellers retain ownership of their own brand, content, and products. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your IP to us, or ours to you, beyond the licences explicitly described above.

9. Disclaimers

cados is provided “as is”. We don’t guarantee that the platform will always be available, error-free, or that listings, analytics, or click data will be perfectly accurate. We don’t warrant any product or seller listed on the platform — those are the seller’s responsibility.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, cados, its founders, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) ₹1,000 or (b) the fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
